6) However, if your Active Desktop is turned off, or you have other Active Desktop programs currently running, you will have to manually turn this program on by accessing your Display Properties.
To access your computer's display properties, right click (with your mouse) on your background / wallpaper, or go Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display (or Display Properties). Either way, you should be confronted with a screen similar to that below:
7) Now click on the "Web" tab on the very top. You will be confronted by a screen like this:
8) At this screen, make sure the "View my Active Desktop as a web page" option is checked, and make sure the "Free Mezzofanti Translations!" option is checked. By now, you the translator should appear on your desktop, like below:
You may need to resize this translation box to see the entire translator.
9) When you need to translate, just type in your text in the box, select your language, and hit "Translate". Of course, you must first be on the Internet for the translation to proceed. If you are indeed connected to the Internet, a new box should pop-up with your translation! Access this translator at any time, wherever you are, it is here for you.
10) Of course, there are hundreds of things that can go wrong in this process. If you have successfully completed this process and can access you translator - congratulations, the world of language awaits you!
